David Cotton (b. 1987) is a UK based artist whose interests lie in exploring the intersection of scientific research with the physical world. One of his key interests is in how we process and consume information, and how it can become distorted – from interactions between individuals to the microscopic level, in the chemical signaling between cells; or at a macro scale, in how civilizations depict themselves through maps and charts.

David maintains an active interest in diverse fields such as artificial life, teratology, mapping, mathematics, impossible physics, and outdated scientific theories. He graduated from Leeds Metropolitan University in 2011, and has since exhibited across the UK and Europe. Previously he has worked with the Biotechnology Department of JCC (New York, USA) and the British Museum (London, UK), and is proud to have received funding from New York State Council on the Arts.
