LOCKDOWN JOURNAL: COVID-19.23 (Lou Hazelwood)
As time moves further into lockdown I found myself getting frustrated, probably at the same things I’ve always been frustrated with, disingenuousness, memes, lack of connection, political motivation towards the right and far right but it’s all magnified in the extreme.
I see also great gratitude, love and shared frustrations, again magnified.
How will we adjust the lens, recalibrate as this deepens and then plateaus hopefully to decline?
I see artists pledges, artists always supporting other artists as Basement Arts has done with my recent ‘lockdowned’ exhibition and their generosity to offer it to be open and on show for a week once this has all calmed and their flexibility to do a virtual tour and virtual ‘Lunchtime Conversation’ even their offering of space for artists to share virtually what they are thinking and making during this period.
So how to magnify this and offer support from an artist to an artist led venue?
I am going to share some artworks from the series Landscapes of the Un(known) these are one off darkroom prints and it works like this - if you like the piece and want to own it, pledge to buy it and all proceeds will go to BasementArtsProject. I will not put a price on them that is for you to do.
All images are unframed. Please bear in mind original works may appear slightly different to the scans in tone & contrast.
Stay safe
