Lunchtime Conversations: Pippa Eason
The work of Pippa Eason could be described as belonging to a culture of kitsch, low brow art objects that utilise popular culture. Although typified by gaudiness, sentimentality and often the melodramatic Eason’s work is no ironic passion for trash. Instead it is a careful rummage through some of the most iconic symbols of this generation, and an exploration of a society whose position seems predicated on the idea of instant gratification; a gratification that is somehow simultaneously delayed.
